Life

But, I think I love Fall, most of all….

Every year I write and ramble about how much I love the Fall.  It’s not technically Fall yet, but I thought I’d get a jump start on my musing early so we can move on to other things.

In addition to the obvious reasons that I (and everyone else should) love Fall  (pumpkin, sweaters, leaves, cozy, blah, blah, blah) I always look at it as a time to sort of start over.  I suppose that comes from going back to school when I was a kid.  It was always a chance for a fresh start.  New clothes, new school supplies, a chance to study harder, or not at all.  To make new friends, to join new clubs, to be something new.  I like that about Fall even now.

A week or two ago, Shawn and I went to see “Christopher Robin”.  The story revolved around a grown up Christopher Robin who had gotten so consumed with adult life that he had forgotten his childhood playmates…Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, Kanga, Roo and Rabbit.  One day, however, Pooh, came looking for him.

(I didn’t completely change subjects there…from Fall to Winnie the Pooh, there’s a point coming.  Stick with me.)

We watched the movie and I enjoyed it very much, but later it got me thinking.  Every year I get so inspired by the Fall and I feel the want to be or try something new or different.   Maybe this year, it isn’t so much about being something new, but maybe it should be about revisiting something old, maybe something I used to do, or someone I used to be?

I haven’t quite settled on what that might be, but I know that feeling that Fall gives me.  A tingling excitement in my stomach that fills me with excitement and possibility.  So, as always, I’m looking forward to this season.  I hope you all are too!  Let me know if you’re starting something new in your life, I’d love to hear all about it  Remember it doesn’t necessarily have to be something new….maybe it’s rediscovering something you long ago forgot or put away for another time, and maybe, just maybe this is that time.
